A Man Named Jesus
By Kyle Blackwell
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus. In Revelation chapter 1 He is the one who is, who was and who is to come, the Almighty, the great I Am. He is also the one who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood. He is the Alpha and the Omega, both infinite beginning and the infinite end. He is the Living One, the one who was dead and now is alive forever and ever. This man holds the keys of death and hades. He is my Jesus!
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus. In Revelation chapters 2 and 3 this man is merciful. At the same time He searches hearts and minds. He rewards each according to their deeds. This man received authority from His father, God. He knows our deeds and He knows our faults and downfalls. Just like a thief, he comes when least expected. This man is ruler of all God’s creation. He is the one standing at the door, knocking. He calls but it is up to us to respond and listen. He wants to come in and dine with us. He is my Jesus!
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus who in chapter 4 of Revelation He, along with His father, is the one to whom the Angels sing “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is and is to come”. They say, “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things and by your will they were created and have their being”. He is my Jesus!
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus. In the fifth chapter of Revelation He is worthy to break the seals. This man is the lamb who was slain. This man is the root of David. He is not just a hippy Jesus that western Christianity praises but He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah. He is worthy of honor and glory. In Isaiah 42:8 God states that He shares His glory with no other. Oh my, this man is also God. He is my Jesus!
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus. In Revelation chapters 6 and 7 He is the one who will judge. He delivers earth its wrath. This man is the one to whom salvation belongs. He deserves all praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength. He is the one whose blood cleanses the saints. He is the Shepard. He is my Jesus!
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus who in Revelation chapters 8-11 is returning to earth. And the sign of His coming is a falling star. He is the Messiah and He will reign forever and ever. This guy is no longer before the throne but he is now on the throne where He belongs with His father. He is my Jesus!
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus. In Revelation 12 He was born of a woman standing before the dragon. He would grow up to rule the nations with an iron scepter. He is the one who commanded the angels to hurl satan from the heavens to the earth. It was by His Blood that the angels triumphed. He is my Jesus!
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus, who in chapters 13-18 of the book of Revelation it is only through His testimony and faith in Him that His people are saved. He is judge. He is the one who is reverentially feared. He is just. He is truth. He is my Jesus!
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus. In Revelation chapter 19 He is ruler. He is conqueror over the beast of the world. He is the avenger of His people, His servants. He reigns supreme. He is the bridegroom. He is the rider who is Faithful and True. He has a head with many crowns. He wages war with justice. His eyes are like blazing fire. He is the Word of God. His robe is dipped in blood. He is King of kings, Lord of lords. He is my Jesus!
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus. In Revelation 20 He holds the keys to Heaven and hell. He is judge. He is the Way. He is destroyer of the destroyer. He is my Jesus!
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus. It is because of Him that in Revelation chapter 21 there will be no more death, no more mourning, no more pain. No more suffering. My wife will no longer be blind. He wipes away every tear. He makes all things new. He created the present Earth and He is creator of the new and coming. He is my Jesus!
Let me tell you about a man named Jesus who in the last chapter of the canon sits on the throne with His father. He is the bright morning star. He is the water of life. He is coming soon. He is God. He is coming soon. He is my Jesus!
The Bible is made up of 65 books that represent Jesus Christ as being before the throne. In Genesis, He is represented as the morning. There was evening, then there was morning the first day. God does His work in the evening, but glory be to God, glory comes in the morning. In the book of Exodus, the altar of incense is made of gold and acacia wood. The gold represents His divinity while the wood represents His humanity. If you look closely in each of the 65 books you will see Jesus represented before the throne. However, in the 66th, the book of Revelation, the Revelation of Jesus Christ, Jesus is no longer before the throne, but he is seated on the throne with God the father. There is no other book in the Bible that expresses His divinity, His creation, His majesty as the book of Revelation. Yes, Revelation is difficult to understand. Yes, Revelation talks about end times. But if you only think about the end times while reading Revelation, you are reading the book in a very selfish way. We find who Jesus truly is in this book. He is my Jesus!
