Who is Your Enemy

By Kyle Blackwell

Is your enemy The crazy democrat? Is your enemy that money hungry republican? Maybe it is the ignorant black guy across the street or the racist white boy. Or it may be the queer in the office.

My enemy is divisive. My enemy is not flesh and blood. My enemy creeps in to steal, kill and destroy. My enemy is not of this world. My enemy comes at night, and not just night as in time of day, but in my lowest points. My enemy does not care about my ignorance. My enemy is a liar. Not only that, but he is the father of all lies. My enemy hates the love I have for my wife. More importantly, he hates that we read the Bible every day and that we pray multiple times together throughout each day. My enemy hates our love for our kids. More importantly, my enemy hates the fact that we also pray with them each day and have Bible studies with them every night. Even more than that, my enemy hates the fact that I have Holy Spirit, the most powerful force on the planet living, breathing, deep within my soul. Even more than that, he hates that I spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and His unending Love for mankind to people every day.

Above, I stated that I do not fight against flesh and blood which comes from Ephesians 6:12. Now, you do have to be careful with this verse, because not everything is of the devil. We are also the cause of our own demise as seen in James 1:14-15. However, there are many times when you know it is of the devil. The devil has a huge hand in politics, more specifically, the political strains on racial tension. And I have a lot more on this verse but that will be for another day.

I was about to go into a huge dialog about different ways the devil infiltrates this world, but I refuse to do so. I do not care if you are black, white, queer, straight, prolife, or prochoice. I am for people. Just like how Jesus ate with sinners and tax collectors, the pharisees hated Him. He showed love to everyone. He died for everyone. Does this mean I have to agree with everyone? No! This world has an ideology that says if you are not in agreement with one’s lifestyle, then you are against them. I can show love to people without agreeing with their lifestyle. This is just another way the devil creates division. Now, I will utilize scripture to back my beliefs and promote the Gospel, but that is in Holy Spirit’s hands. I am only a vessel.

We were put on this Earth for a much greater purpose than to judge and hate. Christians need to come together and accept everyone. I am not saying that we should accept sin and give in. I am saying that if all we do is show hate, how will anyone ever come to Jesus? Haters are no better than satan himself. And when someone truly accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior, that is when lives are transformed.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge -Hosea 4:6
